Westchester Networking for Professionals (WNFP) has announced its partnership with The American Diabetes Association of Westchester County in support of preventions and cures for diabetes. WNFP is dedicating its time to assist American Diabetes Association of Westchester with raising money for their Step Out |Walk To Stop Diabetes fundraising event being held on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Tibbetts Brook Park, Yonkers, NY. Once again WNFP, its members and future members will assist in giving back to our community.
“The Walk to Stop Diabetes is so much more than a fundraising event to me. My Grandma, who passed away in 2005 suffered from Diabetes. I remember her having to take her insulin shots and keeping track of her sugar intake. She didn’t pass away from Diabetes; it was Cancer that got her. When I heard about the American Diabetes Association’s Step Out, I felt I needed to get involved on my Grandmother’s behalf to help raise money to help others who are affected by this disease,” says Theresa Todman, Founder of WNFP.
Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes is the American Diabetes Association’s signature fundraising walk. With strong support from the business community, including sponsorship and corporate teams, this event raises over $24 million to find a cure for diabetes and to support its mission.
WNFP is inviting other professionals to join us in our quest to prevent and cure diabetes once and for all. Chances are, they also know someone who has been affected by diabetes and already know how important it is to stop this disease.
WNFP will be accepting donations in the amounts of $5.00, $10.00, $20.00, $100.00 or more to help us reach our goal to raise $1000.00. Donations can be sent by visiting Team WNFP at http://main.diabetes.org/goto/wnfp, or by calling WNFP at 914-266-0347 to request a donation form and mail in your contribution. All monies raised will be donated to The American Diabetes Association.
By making a small donation on behalf of our TEAM WNFP, you will be helping the Association provide community-based education programs, protecting the rights of people with diabetes and funding critical research for a cure.
With your help, we will fight for a future where a parent does not have to hear that their child has diabetes. A future where an adult does not have to face the uncertain times ahead after receiving a diabetes diagnosis. A future where you and I will know that we had a part in making this possible.
WNFP is also seeking Team Captains to join their team and STEP OUT: WALK TO STOP DIABETES, for more information visit http://main.diabetes.org/goto/wnfp and click on the “JOIN OUR TEAM” button or call Theresa at 914-266-0347.
