Phoenix will be shown at the Maryknoll Society Center on Friday, January 19.

Phoenix will be the featured film for January in the 2017-2018 International Film Festival sponsored by the Maryknoll Fathers and Brothers. It will be shown Friday, January 19, 2018, 7:30 p.m. at Maryknoll, 55 Ryder Road in Ossining. Everyone is welcome and admission is free.

Phoenix is a 2014 film co-produced by Germany and Poland and directed by Christian Petzold. The film is about a disfigured holocaust survivor whose husband doesn’t recognize her when she returns after having had her face reconstructed.

The film festival provides nine monthly offerings on Friday evenings from September to May. The current series, Life through Death: The Old Verities & Truths of the Human Heart, includes an introduction by a Maryknoll missioner and a brief discussion after the screening.
