Now in its 14th year, Peekskill Celebration is the largest festival in the Hudson Valley, attracting over 20,000 people from as far away as New Jersey and Connecticut and as close by as Cortlandt Manor and Putnam Valley.  The Peekskill Celebration takes place the  first weekend in August 6 – 8. Admission to Riverfront Green Park is free.

Visitors from all over the New York City metropolitan area flock to the shores of the majestic Hudson in Peekskill in mid-summer for a memorable stay-close-to-home mini-vacation. Our festival showcases the colorful maritime heritage that Peekskill shares with the Hudson River.

Family entertainment, unrivaled fireworks sponsored by Entergy, colorful Dragon Boat Races, fantastic food, and so much more are the annual hallmarks of Peekskill Celebration. *FREE Shuttle bus service from Downtown and Charles Point Park. Shuttle begins at 12noon and run until 11pm.

DOWNTOWN PEEKSKILL 8:00AM – 4:00PM
Farmers’ Market: Held each Saturday from June – October on Bank St. in Peekskill.
Sponsored by the Peekskill Business Improvement District.

Underground Railroad Tours – Tours leave The Fern Tree at 2 S. Division St. at 10am & 12pm.  Include guided tour of the historic sites that were part of Peekskill’s underground railroad. Come meet Harriet Tubman and hear her story as told by Carolyn Evans. Reservations are required. Call 914- 382-9226 to reserve your seat today. Ticket price is $5.00 donation to Sisters in Support.

CHARLES POINT PARK 9:00PM – 10:00PM
Fireworks Extravaganza – Begins at approx. 9:15pm. This is a great location to watch the exceptional display presented by Garden State Fireworks. Sponsored by Entergy.

PEEKSKILL HIGH SCHOOL 10:00AM – 2:00PM
Elton Brand Youth Basketball Clinic – Clinics begin at 11am. Sponsored by the Elton Brand Foundation. Youth ages 7 – 15 are invited to participate in a 30-minute clinic. Applications will be available on line at www.peekskillcelebration.com and at the Celebration Office, Parks & Recreation and various storefronts in Peekskill. Clinics are conducted by Peekskill High School Coach Lou Panzanaro with members and alumni of the Peekskill Red Devils. Pre Registration is requested. Space is limited. Shuttle bus available from Downtown Peekskill.

RIVERFRONT GREEN PARK 9:00AM – 11:00PM
Arts & Crafts Show – Opens at 11am. Visit our Craft Area. Everything is handmade and there will be a wide variety of booths from Jewelry to Furniture and more. The items are affordable and the vendors are delightful people to meet and visit.

Bucketful of History – Peekskill Resident and educator Jim Taylor will bring members of the living history program, “A Bucketful of History” to the Riverfront. The group is comprised of skilled craftsmen dedicated to preserving and demonstrating trades and crafts of colonial America.

Classic Car & Motorcycle Show – Featuring the classic and custom bike from Ebony & Ivory and select cars from the Road Knights Car Club. Show opens at 12noon. Sponsored by Mavis Tire.

Community Organization Exhibits – Groups have included: SPCA of Westchester, Caring for the Homeless in Peekskill, Hollowbrook Water Watch, and the Peekskill Library.

Dragons on the Hudson – Dragon Boat Races – Races begin at 9am with a Parade of Teams just before the Awards Ceremony at Main Stage at 4pm. Come cheer on your favorite team as businesses from far and near take to the water for a fun and
competitive day on the water in these unusual and historic vessels. Races will take place a short distance from the Riverfront shoreline and are very visible from the park.  Come cheer your favorite team to victory teams take to the water in fun competition.

Dragons on the Hudson Cancer Awareness Race – Race at 12noon prior to the Parade of
Teams. Six teams made up of cancer survivors, family, friends and support staff will compete in the 3rd Celebration Cancer Awareness Race. The Race is conducted to raise awareness that there is life and a quality life after the diagnosis. We still have a long way to go however, to eradicate this disease. Please visit the booths set up by many of our teams for more information on how to get involved or to make a donation. Join us in celebrating the spirit of these dynamic individuals as they take their fight to the water. A Rose Ceremony will follow the race at the finish line.

FIREWORKS EXTRAVAGANZA – Sponsored by Entergy Nuclear Northeast.
Music simulcasts on 100.7FM WHUD. The Fireworks are designed to be seen from many different vantage points so pick your favorite spot at the Riverfront Green, Charles Point Park, or on the River, and settle in for a great show.
