This camp is designed to teach middle school students the fundamentals of public speaking and argumentation skills that will enable them to develop confidence, self-esteem, critical thinking skills, creativity, and leadership. In addition to structing arguments, preparing debate cases, researching evidence, writing rebuttal briefs, and delivering speeches, students will work on theater skills such an improvisation and acting in the afternoon. These theater techniques will help students be more expressive amd emotive in their presentations and debates. The instructors will engage in theater games to create a fun and interactive learning environment. Students will not be expected to perform outside of class.

There will be two camps:

Camp 1: August 1 – 5

Camp 2: August 8 – 12

Monday – Thursday: 9:30am – 3:30pm

Friday: 9:30am – 12:30pm

Fee: $ 500 + $ 8.25 registration fee

or $ 375 for half-day (mornings 9:30am – 12:30pm)
